After heavy rain again overnight, the river here peaked this morning and cut North Bellingen off from the main part of town. When it fined up around lunchtime many of the locals came out to inspect the river and bridge, and the atmosphere was one of a public holiday or market day, only with choppers flying around overhead. With more rain forecast the river could go up again but for now the water is receding. Luckily I have a good stock of food as the corner shop is selling out fast, and even the ducks were displaced with these two trying to dry off in our driveway after the creek rose substantially.
It's kind of nice being isolated from the business of town....more time to make art!
For as long as I can remember I have been observing and drawing the wonderful world around me. Several lifetimes ago I attained an Associate Diploma of Creative Art, and a Diploma of Fine Art. These days I am concerned with art which grounds and heals. I mostly paint mandalas and still lifes in acrylics, but love trying all mediums and forms of art and craft. I prefer the practice to the theory of art.
I print my art onto cotton bags to promote wearable art that inspires peace, harmony, beauty and sustainability.
These guys do wonderful work for the environment worldwide. For information about rain forest conservation, wildlife preservation, deep ecology and human rights go here.
